This is where it all began.
At a hostel in Kampala, Uganda a little over a year ago.
I founded Developing Stories dreaming of changing the way media cover developing countries. With a dream of teaching young, talented journalists and photojournalists the fundamentals on the ground in Africa. With a dream of telling important stories from a different perspective than the one so often used.
Down the road I have gotten the help of an amazing crowd of people. I am them forever thankful. Without them Developing Stories would never have happened in the first place.
Talented journalists, photojournalists, communication consultants and Africa experts have spend time and network on helping me without ever asking for any payment.
Their help have been amazing.
Unfortunately our project didn’t succeed. We have tried everything we could think of to make Developing Stories a sustainable business. But without success.
A wise guy once said, that you should kill your darlings.
I guess that it is my turn to kill a dear darling now.
We are closing Developing Stories for good.
I hope that you have enjoyed the ride as much as I have. I have had some of the best moments of my life with our students, our partners and our teachers.
Thank you for the adventure. It’s been real 🙂
All the best.
